The Etape du Tour, France's most prestigious sportive race (if not in the world!) will take place on Sunday, July 6 in the Pyrenees, from Pau to Hautacam, which comprises the 10th Stage of the 2008 Tour de France. This stage is one of the most challenging, rich, and intense of this coming year's Tour de France and consists of 165 kilometers (104 miles) and two climbs, including the mythic Tourmalet (2,115 m or 6,345 ft.) before tackling the climb to Hautacam (1,520 m or 4,560 ft) where the finish will take place.
We do not recommend entering the Etape unless you have a few "centuries" (not metric, miles!) under your belt! To help you achieve your goal, Cyclomundo will run a training programme in conjunction with Athletica, our coaching partner early May. In addition to rides and training tips, the Athletica experts will design a personal 2-month programme based on the physical tests you will be required to perform at this state-of-the-art sport center.
