| Saturday: Arrive in Siena Siena is well serviced by train from Florence, and Pisa. Both airports are serviced by low-cost airlines. Make the best of your afternoon and explore this fascinating city and its countless treasures: its unfinished Duomo and its famous Piazza del Campo where twice a year the disputed “Palio” horse race is held opposing the 17 “contrade” of this fascinating city. |

| Sunday: Siena – Radda-in-Chianti – 45 km (or 28 miles) From Siena, you’ll ride north—and up—to Radda-in-Chianti, your final destination. This beautiful walled town is overlooks the vineyards that produce remarkable wine. Within its walls, in the pedestrian quarters, you’ll find small shops selling local produce: cheese, wine, and salami. What else do you need for a late picnic? |

| Monday: Radda-in-Chianti – Greve – 40 km (or 25 miles) Your detailed directions will take you through typical postcard Tuscan scenery, Italy’s most photographed region—for good reasons—to Greve in Chianti. No doubt, you’ll stop times and times again shooting at the landscape. Greve-in-Chianti, a major wine center and Chianti’s unofficial capital will be your home for the night. |

| Tuesday: Greve – Firenze (Florence) - 40 km (or 25 miles) The hilly route through the Tuscan countryside has its rewards: Florence and its treasures: The works of Michelangeo and Leonardo da Vinci can be viewed in a number of places including the Accademia dell'Arte del Disegno, the Palazzo Vecchio, or the Uffizi Gallery. No need to rush to see them all as you’ll stay in Florence for two nights. |

| Wednesday: Rest-day in Florence Firenze The birthplace of the Italian Renaissance is yours to discover! Note that we can organize for you a guided walking tour. |

| Thursday: Florence (Firenze) to Colle Val d'Elsa - 25 km (or 15.5 miles) Your ride will take you from Florence through San Gimignano, a site no less amazing than your starting point! Both are so exceptional that they’ve been listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites! A short train ride to medieval Certaldo—worth a visit--will save you some hills and will allow you to spend the afternoon exploring this fascinating place with its distinctive skyline of stone towers. |

| Friday: Colle Val d’Elsa – Siena – 40 km (or 25 miles) An epic day of cycling through postcard-like countryside will conclude this extraordinary week-long holiday through history. An early arrival in Siena will allow for an easy-paced afternoon of souvenir shopping through this extraordinary site (another UNESCO World Heritage Site) and writing envy-producing postcards to family and friends! |
