This 8-day itinerary will take you from the medieval town of Sarlat in the heart of the Perigord to Cahors sitting by the Lot river. In between,
gourmet cyclists will be treated to a week of Perigord's much celebrated
regional cuisine. Every dinner will be a feast. This is the land
of ducks and geese, of foie gras and truffles, of rich Cahors wine
and walnut-based liquors. History buffs will marvel at the sites they'll discover. Some of the best preserved prehistoric cave paintings are in Perigord. We invite you to stop by Pech-Merle on your last day to experience a truly moving and memorable tour of a 25,000 year old "art gallery" frozen in time! Medieval castles are too many to count. Needless to say, the scenery is varied and splendid. This trip is done on quiet roads and easy terrain that are perfect for family vacations. | |||
