Day 1:  Arrival in Avignon
Arrive in Avignon at the time of your choice.  Your hotel is a 2-star property located within walking distance of all the major sights.  In the evening, you’ll meet our local representative to go over itinerary.  Hand out of all materials and equipment will take place at that time. 

Day 2: Avignon - Uzès - Orange (106 km or 67 miles)
Cycling through some of Côtes-du-Rhône's most famous vineyards will take you to the majestic Pont-du-Gard, France's best preserved Roman aqueduct. Besides touring this impressive 2,000-year-old wonder, you can also take advantage of the canoeing and bathing opportunities in the Gardon river that flows beneath the aqueduct. Uzés, a city with an exceptional medieval heritage is your next stop--unless to decide to cut the ride short and head straight towards Orange (a 28 km or 18 mile shortcut) where your hotel is located.

Day 3: Orange - Mont Ventoux - Bédoin (96 km or 60 miles)
Before you get on your bike for the tour's toughest day, you may want to take a stroll through Orange, famous for its Roman monuments. Of these, the Roman Theater and the Roman Arch are really worth the short walk from your hotel! The area known as the "Dentelles de Montmirail" ("Dentelles" is lace) with its interesting rock formations and the Côtes-du-Rhône vineyards of Vacqueyras and Beaumes-de-Venise will provide the perfect warm-up for the day's challenge: the "Giant of Provence," all 1,910 m (5,700 ft.) of Mont-Ventoux! The climb from Bedoin is the toughest, it is also the one most often done by Tour de France riders. The record to beat is 55 minutes 51 held by Iban Mayo. From the top, the view is magnificent. Overnight in Bédoin.

Day 4: Bédoin - Roussillon (Option A: 57 km or 36 miles; Option B: 50 km or 31 miles)
All routes lead to Roussillon. At least two!
The first one will take you through Venasque and Fontaine-de-Vaucluse--home of one of the world's most powerful natural springs--the perched village of Gordes before reaching ochre-colored Roussillon where your hotel is located. It is possible to add a few miles to include Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.

Day 5: Roussillon - Fontvieille (88 km or 55 miles)
Are you ready for a total change of scenery? After riding through some of the perched villages made famous by Peter Mayle in "A Year in Provence" and crossing trafficky Cavaillon, the World Capital of Melons, you will enter the low mountain range of the Alpilles. The scenic Destet road will then take you through fields of olive trees to the Alpilles, a low-mountain range where Fontvieille is located.

Day 6: Fontvieille - Arles - Camargue- Les Baux-de-Provence (72 km or 45 miles)
After the visit of the city of Arles, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, our itinerary will take you to Camargue, a unique natural preserve. Although flat, this section can be made difficult by the Mistral, the local wind which can turn an easy outing into a challenging ride! The Regional Park of Camargue is a unique area with a remarkable wildlife: migrating birds, wild horses. You will then head towards Les Baux-de-Provence with its towering fortress that offers unobstructed views over Provence and the Mediterranean Sea). Overnight in Les Baux-de-Provence.

Day 7: Les Baux-de-Provence - Avignon (51 km or 32 miles)
Although short, this ride is full of sites that are worth visiting! St. Rémy-de-Provence and its "Glanum," Tarascon and its medieval fortress (France's best kept), "La Montagnette" and the Abbey of St. Michel de Frigolet and finally, Avignon and its extraordinary heritage! Overnight in Avignon.

Day 8: Departure from Avignon
After breakfast, depart Avignon at the time of your choice.

• 1,015 euros May 1 thru June 30 and September 1 thru September 30. Single supplement is 520 euros
• 1,045 euros July 1 thru August 31. Single supplement is 630 euros
