2008 CALENDAR: CYCLO SPORTIVES

April | May | June | July | August | September | October |
Etape du Tour | Time-Megeve Mont-Blanc | Marmotte |

Cyclosportive races are mass-timed cycling events that attract thousands-imagine a marathon on bicycles. The appeal of cyclosportives is that they enable bicyclists of all abilities-riding professionals, weekend warriors, beginners-and of all agendas-to win, to compete, to merely experience-to test themselves in Tour-like conditions. Riders enjoy police escorts along routes that are closed to traffic and supplied with frequent water and food stations. Locals from many of the towns along the designated routes add to the experience by appearing in mass and cheering on the riders.

Cyclomundo offers travel packages to two of France's most prestigious cyclosportives: the Etape du Tour and the Marmotte.

However, if neither of these cyclosportives conform with your schedule, Cyclomundo is flexible enough to create customized packages around some other cyclosportives for your group of friends or cycling club. Keep in mind that there are many other cyclosportive events and while most lack the name recognition of l'Etape or Marmotte, these races are just as challenging, if not more.
